Consultation has concluded
Our annual plan sets out what we’re going to do in the year ahead, the money we’ll use to do it and the impact this will have on rates.
Between 1 and 30 April 2025, we sought your views on a number of proposals.
Consultation has now closed but you can read what we are proposing in 2025/26 below. Final decisions will be made by the council at the end of June.
What we're proposing
Simplifying public transport rating
We’re proposing different rating areas based on level of access to bus services.
Wharekawa Coast (Kaiaua) rating
We’re proposing a new targeted rate to manage our river and catchment services in the Wharekawa Coast.
Rates remission policy
We’re proposing a new remission policy for the primary industry compliance rate which only applies to properties 20ha or greater.
Fees and charges
Based on the proposed budget for 2025/26, we’ve reviewed the fees and charges set for regulatory services and information gathering.
